SheetAudit
Spreadsheet Formula Auditor
A local static first pass for formula risks—not a correctness certificate.
For workbook owners who want a transparent static review of an Excel copy before a model handoff. The scanner reads formulas without changing or calculating the workbook.
One-time USD source-pack license. Manual delivery, not a web app or AI subscription.
What the tool actually does
- Flags #REF! tokens, explicit/cached errors, static dependency cycles and external links.
- Reports unsupported references instead of silently treating them as safe.
- Adds narrow review heuristics for volatile functions, adjacent SUM gaps and hardcodes between formulas.
- Bring
- A trusted .xlsx workbook copy. Python plus openpyxl is required.
- Get
- JSON findings with stable IDs and sheet/cell context; optional finding-linked agent narrative.
- Without a model
- The complete static scanner and a deterministic findings brief; no model required.
Small, invented example—not a customer result
Synthetic workbook: planted-faults.xlsx
Model!D2 / D3 static dependency cycle
Model!E2 #REF! token
Model!B6 possible omitted SUM cell (heuristic)
10 findings: 3 error, 7 review; not a full auditIllustrative excerpt from the shipped synthetic fixtures. A successful example is not an accuracy benchmark.

Static audit only: no formula calculation, automatic fixes, financial assurance or complete correctness check. Named/dynamic/structured/whole-column references are flagged, not resolved; ranges cap at 10,000 cells. Heuristics may misfire.
Tested on Linux/Python with small synthetic inputs. Customer workloads, Windows/macOS, agent auto-install/discovery and every host version are untested.
In the download
- Actual Skill recipe and deterministic Python engine/validator
- English README, input fixtures, reference outputs and executable unit tests
- Personal/internal commercial-use license; client outputs are allowed, source-pack redistribution is not
Python 3.10+ is required. SheetAudit also needs openpyxl. Text-PDF extraction in RedlineBrief optionally needs Poppler pdftotext. Models and third-party runtimes are not included. These are source tools, not one-click desktop installers.
